Horray!

Looks like someone made a boo boo. Those silly cats over at GameVideos.com posted a video entitled "Gears of War PC 'E3 Action' montage" and quickly pulled it. But fret not fanboys, because Quellex saved the video and posted it on YouTube for everyone to enjoy. But before you take a look at this leaked Gears PC montage be warned that it may make your inner fanboy scream with anger and disgust. Why? Because the video showcases what looks to be not only new multiplayer maps and additional campaign missions, but it also showcases a boss battle with a Brumak. Yup, that same Brumak that didn't make it into the 360 version of Gears. Hopefully there's more to this story that'll come out of E3, something along the lines of all the new additional PC content being available for free to Xbox 360 owners. Otherwise we shun you Epic and your PC content ... we want to fight Brumaks too!

Well I haven't posted in a couple of days, mainly due to the Insurgency Mod, which has done a great job of sucking up my time. If you still haven't checked it out, you probably should. I also went to see the new Die Hard movie the other day with a friend of mine. It was one of the craziest movies I've ever seen. When I'm not playing Insurgency I'm working on new skins for it, and I might post some of those later if I get a chance. That's all for now.

Once again back from vacation, and just in time to download the new Insugency Mod for Half Life 2 that I've been waiting for. So in an hour or two I'll be enjoying that. Here's the trailer for it.

Another thing that caught my eye today was this. That's right, Geometry Wars: Galaxies for the Wii and DS. I really enjoyed the first Geometry Wars for the 360, and I'm eagerly awaiting this one.

Red vs Blue Episode 100

Final episode of the Blood Gulch Chronicles was put up a couple of days ago. You can watch it here.
Make sure you watch each of the different endings(there's 3 of them). Definitely a great ending episode for one of the best machinima shows on the web. Hopefully there will be some news on another season soon.
Currently up north again, after my aunt's wedding yesterday which my brother and I had to usher for, everything went well. That's all for now.

Just got back a couple of hours ago, it's nice to be home. I won't be posting any pictures because no one took any. Not really sure why. Anyways it was a pretty fun trip. I got to play a bit of paintball, and I did a bit of kayaking. On Saturday night we played some Wii sports which was awesome. Creating all of the Miis was probably the most fun, it's amazing all the different things you can come up with. Well, that's all for now.

More news on the new Grand Theft Auto game thanks to the Turkish Official Xbox Magazine.

More details on Rockstar's other, less controversial action game (who thought we'd ever be saying that?) have appeared on the net via the Turkish Official Xbox Magazine.

Among the new tidbits in the mag, the most interesting comments describe GTA IV's new time-based elements. Apparently, missions will be more thoroughly tied-in with the events of the world. For example - and hypothetically speaking - if you're tasked with catching a train and miss it, you won't be able to do that particular mission.

It all sounds a bit Majora's Mask. Explosions are also said to make an... erm, explosive return, with one mission based entirely around chain-detonating cars. Vehicles, however, only explode now when you bullseye them with a rocket launcher, rather than blowing up via a simple car crash.
Don't forget there's a brand new trailer rolling out next week as well.

Here's the full list of new info:

-There's a slight vibration with every footstep when you run

- The HUD has been removed. If you have armor, you actually have a bulletproof vest which visually deteriorates

- Flame throwers and rocket launchers are still in the game

- Niko doesn't get tired. You can run forever, it just wont be as fast as previously.

- Gore is back and better. Bullet wounds show, blood appears where you shoot people. Enemies limp if you shoot them in the leg and hold their arm if you shoot their arm. Apparently when you run someone over it's quite disturbing.

- No eating, girlfriends or keeping fit- but your skills do improve over time (driving, etc.)

The new barrel for my A-5 just arrived, it's more than twice the size of the original one(or at least it seems that way). I can't wait to test it out during the family reunion this week. I'll post some pics of it when I get a chance.

Review: Oblivion [PC]

This is by far one of my favorite games for the PC. It has everything a gamer could every want. Fantastic graphics, a great story line, well developed characters, unbelievable AI, and amazing game play.

First off: Graphics. Simply put, they're absolutely beautiful. I have never seen a better looking DX9 game ever. Water sparkles and shines, the foliage is dense and realistic looking, character models and textures look amazing as well. The one thing about the graphics that stuck out the most in my mind was the weather system.

Second up: The Story Line. Once again, perfectly executed. The story follows your character from their escape from prison, and their quest to shut the Gates to Oblivion that threatens all life in Cyrodiil. Aside from the main story line(which can take countless hours to complete) there are many other side quests for you to complete, different guilds for you to join and advance through the ranks in, and extra dungeons for you to explore.

Third: Characters/AI. Now the AI was one of the most exciting things in Oblivion for me. Each AI character would go about their business throughout the day(eat, sleep, run errands, etc...), and they could also have complete, unscripted dialogs. All of this is thanks to the revolutionary Radiant AI system that Bethesda implemented in the game.

Finally: Game play. Another thing that Oblivion hits dead on. There was nothing in the game that I didn't enjoy. Combat was a blast, not too easy, but not overwhelmingly difficult. Because of the massive size of the game, you can explore for hours uninterrupted(NO LOAD TIMES!).

There are so many different aspects to this game, that I couldn't hope to cover them all in this review. All I can say is, buy this game. You won't regret it. I give Oblivion a 10/10.

DOA4: Oh Dear God

I've been meaning to play this game for a while as well, so when I went to return Hitman, I decided to pick this up. So I start up the game and start in story mode. To my surprise the "story mode" shows no signs of any story what so every. Whatever, no big deal I say to myself, the game play will make up for it. I start playing and get through the first 5 or 6 stages easily, and then out of the blue, I just get my ass kicked brutally(many times). Now either I just suck at this game, or there are some serious balance issues. I'll keep playing, and hopefully I can make myself like this game, but I really don't see that happening. If anyone wants to tell me how wrong I am, or how much I suck feel free.

Hitman: Blood Money

I rented Hitman: Blood Money a couple days ago and I've been playing it pretty much non stop. What can I say, the game is great, there are so many different ways to go about taking down your targets, It's just amazing. Personally, I enjoy being nice and sneaky but going in guns a blazin' can be pretty entertaining(though it rarely works). On the higher difficulty levels, the AI is great, otherwise it can be pretty dang stupid, but that's my only real complaint with the game. The controls are great, as are the graphics(which is expected for a game on the 360). Anyway, if you have some free time and you're looking for a game, you should at least give Hitman: Blood Money a rental.

Just ordered myself a new barrel from Xtreme Paintball and I'm hoping it will arrive before I head up north for a family reunion. The barrel I ordered is a black 14" Proto 1-Piece, and hopefully I'll see a lot of improvement over the stock barrel I'm using. Here's a link to the barrel.
I also registered on MobZor which is a new online paintball community. If it takes off, it will be really cool. Anyways, that's all for now. Peace out.

Pure Pwnage DVD!

Just got my Season 1 DVD's for Pure Pwnage, and I've been watching them pretty much all day. The sound track is pretty awesome too. Well worth the $50. I also just reformatted my PC, and started reinstalling Windows, so I have a good day or two of reinstalling drivers and programs. Can't wait.

Well just got done with my first day of finals, so far so good. Only two more days until I'm done for the year, can't wait. Anyways, since my last post stuff has happened I guess. I saw the new Pirates movie, and I gotta say it was pretty cool. I'm not sure why everyone is saying it was really confusing. I know I didn't have any problems understanding it.
I also managed to break my computer again, so hopefully I'll be able to fix that soon. Though I might end up just upgrading to Vista or just reformatting to save some time.
Anyways that's all I can really remember right now, as I'm really tired. I'll post more later if I remember to.

Just got back from watching it. It was definitely a decent movie, but no better than the first two. There were a couple of just flat out stupid scenes that never should have gotten into the film, but hey w/e. Stan Lee made a cameo which was awesome, and that guy who played Eric in that 70's show(Topher Grace?) plays Venom, and he did a pretty good job. Anyways, if your a fan you should go see it, because it by no means is a horrible movie, it's just not as great as it could've been.

The new Pure Pwnage came out the other day, and it was definitely worth the long wait. If you haven't seen it yet, you should definitely go check it out. The only not so good thing is that the season one DVD's got delayed, and are going to be shipped on the 23rd of May instead of yesterday, but I can live with that I guess. Anyways, go watch the new episode.

KOTOR MMO?

I thought this was awesome.

BioWare has formed a new online team to create a Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic massively multiplayer online game, EGM reports.

No further details were reported in the rumour section of the US magazine but we've taped our fingers crossed. KOTOR is one of our favourite Star Wars games ever and the thoughts of an online MMO is, frankly, too much to take in.

The magazine also reports on a few other BioWare-related rumours. The current PC-exclusive Dragon Age is coming to PS3 and the DS currently in development at the mega-studio looks to be from the Baldur's Gate franchise. They're all rumours at the moment but we'll keep you updated with any announcements.

If you missed Monday's shock news, CVG exclusively reported that the firm's highly anticipated Xbox 360 RPG Mass Effect has been pushed back to September. You can find more here.

Hope fully it's true, I've been waiting for a new KOTOR game for what seems like ages.

I have been waiting to see this movie for God knows how long, and I finally had a chance to see it the other day. I have to say, I wasn't disappointed in the slightest way. I honestly can't think of a time when I wasn't laughing. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were absolutely brilliant, and they played their parts perfectly. The only part of the movie that I didn't enjoy was that some of the jokes got a little repetitive, but it wasn't too big of a deal. Anyway, if you have two hours, and you're looking for a good movie, you have to check out Hot Fuzz.

Jack Thompson Finally Taken Down a Notch

Mr. Thompson is one of the few people on this planet that I actually despise. His incoherent ramblings on how video games are Satan have been driving me nuts.
But thankfully everyone is beginning to realize how full of sh*t he is. After he appeared on an MSNBC show(I believe it was Hardball with Chris Matthews), he had begun to receive criticism from just about everyone. MSNBC has discounted everything he said, Howard Stern called out Dr. Phil, and Mr. Thompson on the issue, and even Rush Limbaugh has voiced his opinion against the violent games = killers belief.
Anyway, hopefully this is the last we will hear from Mr. Thompson about this kind of stuff. I doubt it, but I can hope.
